Combines all 5 batch PRs into one branch:

  • Security hardening (#112-#118)
  • CLI features (#95-#99, #103-#105)
  • Protocol improvements (#100-#102, #106)
  • Performance (#107-#111)
  • Tests + Docs (#39, #119)

All conflicts resolved. Builds clean with -Werror. All 22 unit tests pass.
